If you are a kid or teen who experiences anxiety, then this is the place for you! Living with anxiety is hard!! We know from our own experiences! It can be frustrating, confusing and at times debilitating. Please, please know that you are not alone in your journey. You may be surprised to know that everyone experiences anxiety, and many people find that anxiety can be a real challenge to cope with. It is easy to think that other people don’t understand, but in actuality. many young people and adults have first hand experiences. Anxiety is often a hidden and/or misunderstood challenge, but know that there are others who understand and can help you.
For some people anxiety is compounded by a naturally high level of sensitivity and intensity. This is, for example, often the case for gifted individuals. Coupled with quick thinking, association and development of new connections in the brain, anxiety can quickly escalate to something that feels overwhelming.
On this website, you will find lot of resources to help you understand and cope with the challenges that anxiety can bring. Among these resources you will find videos, games, information and activities. Hopefully you might find something that helps you to feel more calm, at peace and hopefully even relaxed. Each page is laid out with resources relevant to younger children at the top, working towards teens and young adults at the bottom of the page. If you find anything on this site useful, please share it along.
If anxiety or depression is getting you down please reach out to an adult you trust and ask for help. You are loved, and there will be someone who is wanting to help you - whether or not you are aware of it. Whether it’s a parent, teacher, counsellor, school nurse, kaumatua, mentor, doctor, coach, aunt or ... find your courage to reach out. If this doesn't feel right, then you can always call Youthline on 0800 376 633, Kidsline on 0800 543 754 or Sparx on 0508 4 SPARX.
If you or someone you know is unsafe right now, call 111 (if in New Zealand), or your relevant national emergency number.

I appreciate that it can be confusing, and at times a real struggle, trying to support anxious kiddos and teens, but please know that you are not alone either. We hope that you might find some resources to support you in your journey together, and feel the warmth of kindred spirits seeking the same positive outcomes. Take time to explore and try out different strategies. Each page is laid out with resources relevant to younger children at the top, working towards teens and young adults at the bottom of the page.
